Breaking news! Flames spread from Şarköy to Gallipoli: Villages are being evacuated

The forest fire, which broke out in Tekirdağ's Şarköy district and spread to Çanakkale's Gelibolu district, is being intervened from air and land.
The fire, which broke out for an unknown reason in an area outside the forest in the Şenköy neighborhood at noon, reached the rural area of Kavakköy town in the Gelibolu district.
Crews are continuing to fight the fire, and efforts are underway to bring it under control. Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman stated in a statement that the fire, which began in the Şarköy area, spread throughout the day and reached the city limits.
Toraman, explaining that the fire reached the rural area of Kavakköy, said:
"The wind has weakened. Our colleagues have installed the necessary lines to prevent it from advancing. They are continuing their fight. The fire poses no risk to natural gas pipelines or military facilities. We have established our line in that area, our colleagues are carrying out their interventions, and there is no risk to critical facilities."
On the other hand, due to the fire in Şarköy, Şenköy, Kızılcaterzi and Kocali were evacuated as a precaution.
AIR INTERVENTION HAS BEGUN
Crews intensively fought the fire from the ground, which was occasionally intensified by the wind. Helicopters and aircraft also began extinguishing efforts at first light.
Aerial and land intervention continues in the forest fire that broke out yesterday in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale.
A forest fire broke out around 3:00 PM yesterday near the village of Naldöken in the Ayvacık district. Four planes, six helicopters, 24 water trucks, 12 water supply vehicles, 16 fire trucks, three first-response vehicles, six bulldozers, five trailers, 11 external agency support vehicles, and 220 personnel were dispatched to the area after being noticed by villagers. Teams fought the blaze from land and air. In Naldöken village, the fire damaged a cemetery, animal pens, and agricultural equipment, and reduced straw to ashes. Small livestock in some animal pens perished. The villages of Taşağıl, Tuzla, Naldöken, and Çamköy were evacuated as a precaution.
Historical graves damaged
Gendarmerie teams assisted in the evacuation of an elderly woman living in the village of Tuzla. The teams carried the woman, who was unable to walk, on their shoulders and carried her out of the house. Numerous animal pens, gardens, abandoned buildings, agricultural equipment, tractors, and farmland in the village were also damaged. The historic tombs in the garden of the Murad Hüdavendigar Mosque, built 659 years ago by Murad I and currently undergoing restoration, were also damaged by the flames.
Burning areas were imaged with drones
As night fell, airborne forces suspended operations. Throughout the night, 42 water trucks, six bulldozers, 15 firefighters, and approximately 300 personnel battled the blaze. Aerial combat resumed in the morning. Residents of villages evacuated as a precautionary measure began returning to their homes. Meanwhile, drones captured images of the burned areas in the region.
A fire in the Mudurnu district of Bolu destroyed two houses and 10 haylofts. Many sheep and cattle caught in the flames also died.
The fire broke out overnight in Çamyurdu village, Mudurnu district. It allegedly started in a hayloft and quickly spread to adjacent haylofts and wooden houses. Upon notification from villagers, firefighters from Mudurnu and Taşkesti districts, water trucks from the Forestry Directorate, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. As the fire spread rapidly, villagers, firefighters, and forestry teams began working to extinguish the flames. Two houses belonging to Seyfettin Aldemir and Ahmet Baştürk, along with 10 haylofts, were reduced to ashes. Numerous sheep and cattle were also burned to death in the blaze. An investigation has been launched into the fire.
