Statement from DMM regarding claims that 'a group affiliated with the PKK claimed responsibility for the forest fires'

In a statement made on DMM's social media account regarding the allegations, it was stated that the contents were examples of disinformation whose context was distorted, old and served intentionally.
The statement noted that creating provocations over forest fires , targeting state institutions while disasters that are still being brought under control continue, and making irresponsible statements that will cause panic in society are completely unacceptable attitudes in the public conscience and in the eyes of the law, and the following was stated:
"As a result of the open source scans, it is clearly understood that the visual and text used to support these claims were taken from an illegal site called Nuçe Ciwan, dated October 10, 2020, which makes propaganda for a terrorist organization, and that the shared content has nothing to do with the current fires. Our state acts with the principle of zero tolerance in the fight against terrorism and meticulously investigates all possibilities of sabotage, including forest fires. However, turning claims that are not based on any evidence into political material is a disinformation practice at least as dangerous as the fires themselves."
DMM invited citizens to question the reliability of the source of content they encounter on social media, to verify the date and context of shared images, and to cautiously evaluate posts made outside of official institution statements.
