Foster Family Day is a special day celebrated every year on June 30th to draw attention to the foster family model developed in Turkey so that children who are far from the warmth of their families can grow up with one-on-one attention and love. MEANING AND IMPORTANCE OF FOSTER FAMILY DAY Foster family is a model that ensures that children whose parents are alive but whose care and supervision cannot be provided for various reasons are raised by voluntary families under state supervision. This system allows the child to get away from institutional care and receive one-on-one attention, while also increasing the sense of solidarity and responsibility in society. According to the data of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, thousands of children in our country continue to grow up safely in foster families. In addition to providing financial support to these families, the state also provides support in areas such as education, guidance and psychosocial counseling. On this special day, individuals considering becoming foster families are informed; current foster families are thanked. At the same time, the aim is to increase the sensitivity of different segments of society to the issue and to provide more children with a loving home.
