Of course, a long weekend in São Paulo is almost nothing compared to the gastronomic potential of that megalopolis. However, our getaways there have been frequent and, each time, we explore one of the many charming neighborhoods, from the ancient Jardim Europa to the modern Itaim Bibi or Vila Olímpia - the latter being the target of this trip.
We stayed at the Michelin-starred Pullman, where - out of curiosity, not for lack of imagination - we visited the hotel's restaurant Hub. The chef uses a Spanish oven called Josper, which is fed with hot coals, which gives the meat and seafood on the menu a distinctive flavor. I chose a recommended fillet of sea bass with mushroom risotto (R$163.00).
We made some visits that we considered mandatory - buffet and meat buffet at Fogo de Chão (R$ 189.00) and a stop at Eataly, an Italian emporium with good restaurants and pleasant aromas in the air, perfect inspiration for our Mercado Público. There we did some shopping and had lunch at Pasta e Pizza, where I ordered a delicious tagliatelle with ossobuco ragu (R$ 77.00).
But the highlight of the gastronomic tour was Parigi, on the verdant rooftop of the Cidade Jardim Shopping Mall. It is a bistro with the Fasano family brand, beautiful, with a view of the city, an elegant place without being overly formal. The menu offers a variety of temptations, but it took just a quick glance for us to decide on the haddock fillets with delicate mashed potatoes (R$199.00 each). The picture gives an idea, although it does not allow us to evaluate the joy experienced by our taste buds.
The desserts were also amazing - impeccable crème brûlée and vanilla mille-feuille. With an Aperol Spritz, water and tip (the usual 13%), the bill came to a fair R$646.00. Reservations: (11) 3198-9440.

- Hashi is launching a fall menu with new creations by Carlos Kristensen. One of them is pictured: gnocchi with grilled lobster and bisque sauce.
- New at Food Hall Dado Bier: brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 4 pm, with free parking at Bourbon Country and double mimosa until 3 pm. The options are varied, the photo is just a sample.
- At Lilliput, known for its lively nightlife, Saturday is lunchtime. The menu only includes feijoada, served buffet style for R$49.00. There are three areas: in the parklet, on the ground floor and with live samba upstairs.
