Legal expert Tatyana Golubeva analyzed the regulatory aspects related to meal breaks during the workday. According to the provisions of the Russian Federation Labor Code, the period designated for meals and recuperation is not included in paid working time and is not counted when calculating its duration.

The specialist clarified that the regulated duration of such a break ranges from 30 minutes to two hours, which complies with the requirements of Article 108 of the Russian Labor Code. During this time, employees have the right to independently manage their personal resources, including leaving the workplace, visiting a café or restaurant, or attending to personal matters. The employer, in turn, is obligated to create the necessary conditions for employees to exercise their right to rest and eat within the established timeframes.
