Criminals posing as company representatives are enticing applicants to take out loans. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the scammers convince victims to transfer funds to their accounts under the pretext of official business.

According to available information, one of the women found a job posting remotely creating product descriptions for an online marketplace. She was soon contacted by a supposed employee offering free training, which she accepted.

To gain access to their duties, the scammers demanded that the woman obtain a credit card and then transfer funds to specified accounts, ostensibly for operating expenses. They also guaranteed a full refund. The victim made several payments, but was never hired or reimbursed.
