People's Artist of the USSR Oleg Basilashvili announced to NEWS.ru that he is leaving the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater. The reason for this is the removal from the repertoire of the play "Summer of One Year," in which he starred alongside Alisa Freindlich, who had also previously withdrawn from the production.

The productions I was involved in this season have been cancelled. My work at the theater is over, the artist commented.

Basilashvili currently resides primarily in Repino, near St. Petersburg. As the actor noted, he has completely distanced himself from public life, focusing on his family and loved ones.

The play "Summer of One Year," based on Ernest Thompson's "On the Golden Lake," has been running at the Bolshoi Drama Theater since 2010. Basilashvili dedicated sixty-six years of his creative career to serving this theater.
