A Moscow court will hear a lawsuit against People's Artist of Russia Philipp Kirkorov filed by a company that received the right to collect a loan from a Moscow bank. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the Tagansky Court.

"The joint-stock company... is asking the court to collect the debt from Philip Kirkorov under the loan agreement," the statement reads.

An agency source noted that a hearing regarding this lawsuit is scheduled for mid-October. The plaintiff noted in his statement that Kirkorov took out a loan from a Moscow bank in 2020.

It is reported that, allegedly with the singer's consent, the bank later assigned its right to claim the debt to JSC. This was due to Kirkorov's failure to repay the loan.

MK previously reported that renowned Russian actor Alexander Golovin lost his car after being more than a year behind on his microloan payments. He took out a loan at 99% annual interest.
