Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Urban Development Policy of the capital, which is part of the Complex of Urban Development Policy and Construction of the City of Moscow, reported at the SPIEF that in the first 5 months of 2025, preparatory and construction work began at 22 renovation sites in eight districts of the capital.
"Currently, housing is being built on an area of over 300 hectares under the renovation program. On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are increasing the pace of program implementation. Thus, in the first five months of 2025, we have begun preparatory and construction work on 22 new sites under the renovation program," the press service of the Department of Urban Development Policy quotes Ovchinsky as saying.
The figure exceeds the data for the same period last year by 41%, when construction of residential complexes began on 13 sites. The largest number of facilities is located in the North-West Administrative District - five, and in the Northern, South-Eastern and Eastern Districts - four sites each.
The press service of the Department of Urban Development Policy added that all buildings under the renovation program are being built with a barrier-free environment. The adjacent territory will be improved: paths will be laid, lighting, benches with urns will be installed, recreation areas, children's and sports grounds will be organized.
The capital's mayor has already announced the addition of 131 new sites to the renovation program and has given instructions to double the pace of its implementation.
